Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose the right online gift card?

E-Gift or E-Gift Card?

An e-gift (or e-gift card) is a code or barcode that can be purchased for and redeemed in a single store. E-gifts can be purchased online, sent via email then presented in-store or online to buy goods. Because the e-gift is simply a code, it can be used by anyone who has access to that code; this means that e-gifts are not as secure as digital gift cards (which are tied to a recipient’s account).

Mobile Gift Card?

A mobile gift card is similar to an e-gift, with some added flexibility and security. Mobile gift cards are still only available to purchase for use in a single store (e.g. a Debenhams mobile gift card), however in this case the code is purchased, sent and stored using a secure platform/app. The app can be used to store and keep track of your mobile gift cards.

Digital Gift Card?

Digital gift cards (like the One4all Digital Gift Card) offer the highest level of security, personalisation and flexibility of any online gift card. They work just like traditional One4all Gift Cards, with no plastic necessary. Digital gift cards can be bought, customised and sent online using a secure website, then spent in-store or online with thousands of different outlets.

How do I claim my Digital Gift Card?

When someone sends you a One4all Digital Gift Card, you will receive an email and/or text message letting you know, with an option to ‘Claim’ your card.

Click on the ‘Claim’ button – this will take you to our website and show you the card and message from the sender. To claim your card, you will either need to create a One4all account, or log in to an existing account. Make sure to use your correct details here, as we need your phone number for verification purposes before you access and use your gift card.

Once you are signed in, the gift card you received will be available in your account. Please note: once you have claimed your card and completed the above process, the claim button will no longer work. To access your card, you simply need to go to  and log in. Trying to use the claim link more than once will result in an error message saying, “This card is no longer available.”

I clicked to claim my gift card and got an error message

In this case, you have already claimed the gift card and it is tied to your account. Simply go to and click the gift card icon at the top right of the page to access your gift card.

How do I send my Digital Gift Card?

After you have purchased your card, it will show in your account under My Gift Cards. To access this section, click the gift card icon at the top right of the page. The card will be in the Send tab. If there is a message saying, “Hold tight”, that means we are processing the card, this includes performing fraud checks on the transaction and may take time depending on the time of day.

Once approved the card will become available to use, so log back into your account to check if it is ready to send.

Once ready, a Send button will appear under the card; simply click this to customise the card and then enter the details of the person you are sending to, including both email and mobile number. You will be asked for a verification code before it allows you to send the card. This will be sent to the mobile you entered when claiming the card and creating an account.

Don’t worry if you don’t have the recipient’s phone number, just use your own. In this case, the recipient will not receive a text to claim their card, just an email.

How do I view my full card details?

Log in to - you can not view your digital gift cards on our other sites.

From here, click the gift card icon at the top right hand of the screen.

Under the Spend Section, click ‘View full card details. In this section, you will also see two link icons which will provide you details on how to spend the cards online and in store.

Please note: If the section which should contain the card details does not load, try it from a mobile device or, if you are using a work device, ask your IT department if they are blocking access.

Not receiving a verification code?

The verification code is required to authorise use of your card. While it is possible that your mobile carrier is having issues with the delivery of the code it is more likely the phone number provided when claimed the card was incorrect.

If you have entered the wrong phone number, you can amend this under the account information section in your account after you are logged in. Please note: this is not the same as your Billing Information.

Just click to edit the phone number, enter a new one and you will receive a verification code via email to complete the amendment.

If you have checked the mobile phone number is correct, and you are still not receiving the verification code, please contact customer support.

Expired claim link

The Claim link sent to your email or SMS does not expire. If you are receiving a message saying that the card is no longer available, it means the card has already been claimed. Please log in to your account with the details you used to claim the card to gain access to it. You can not use the claim link more than once.

How do I spend my card in store?

The card works the same in store as Google/Apple Pay. One4all does not impose any limit on the amount you can tap for but some retailers may, so it is best to ask before purchasing.

If the balance of your card is for example 37.00 and you are looking to purchase an item for 100.00, be sure to let the cashier know you wish to make a part payment with your 37.00 balance, as you would do if you were paying part cash/part card.

Hold your phone to the card terminal to pay by NFC, the phone will usually beep or vibrate to confirm the transaction, some phones may ask for your thumb / finger print for security to authorise the payment, this depends on your device.

How to spend my digital card online?

Once you log in to your account you can view all cards that are available to spend in the “Spend” section of your account. Simply select the ‘Spend Online’ option to view your card details, including the full 16 digit card number, expiry date and CVV2 number.

These details can be used with any of our retailers that typically accept One4all Gift Cards online. When spending, enter the details of your card as though you were using a credit/debit card. Please note that the value of the purchase cannot be greater than the value of the card, as most websites do not accept multiple payment methods.

There is a maximum spend of €50 when using our cards online.

What are keystroke patterns?

Keystrokes are one way of ensuring it’s you using your One4all Digital Reloadable card to make an online purchase.

When typing – on a laptop, smartphone or tablet – you have a unique rhythm. For example, the speed at which you type and how heavily you press the keys. This information informs your keystroke pattern.

It’s important to note that we will never use keystroke patterns to uniquely identify you as a One4all cardholder.

Why is information about my keystroke patterns collected?

A new requirement of the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) for electronic payments, like those you make online using One4all, has come into effect called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA).

Under this new legislation, you may be required to complete two-factor authentication when shopping with One4all online. This provides an extra layer of account protection and is a way to reduce the risk of fraud.

One4all, under the entity of GVS Prepaid (Europe) Limited, will be collecting and using keystroke pattern information as part of your account two-factor authentication. This information will be used only by GVS Prepaid (Europe) Limited and will not be shared with any third-party companies, other than those we specifically instruct to help us comply with the Strong Customer Authentication requirement.

In the event your keystroke pattern is unsuccessful in helping authenticate you as the transaction maker when using One4all online – the transaction might be declined. If this event, you will be shown a phone number which you can call to review or challenge this decision with our Customer Service team.

How can I find out more about GVS Prepaid (Europe) Limited data practices?

For general information about data practices from One4all’s parent company, Blackhawk Network Inc. and its affiliated companies, including information about international transfers of data, retention practice and your rights as individuals, please refer to our Privacy Policy

I got an error message when checking out.

If you have tried to make a payment and received an error or decline message please see the table below for the list of reasons this might occur.

A processor decline indicates that your bank has refused the transaction request. Sometimes you can tell why it was declined by reading the response code, but only your bank can confirm the specific reason.

The most common reasons for declines are:

  • Incorrect credit card number or expiration date
  • Insufficient funds
  • The bank declined based on location
  • The bank's fraud rules blocked the transaction
  • Using autofill or scan card option when entering in payment details – retry and manually type in card details
